Administrator

The individual or corporate fiduciary appointed by the probate court to administer the estate of an individual who died without a last will and testament. The responsibilities of an Administrator include gathering all of the assets the deceased individual owned in his or her name, without any beneficiary designation, paying the deceased individual’s creditors and distributing the balance of the assets according to the state’s law of intestate succession.
