TuckerAllen, a new law firm created and wholly owned by St. Louis-based Lewis Rice, will be opening its doors on September 6, 2016. It will offer personalized estate planning services at four conveniently located area offices — Kirkwood, O’Fallon, and Town & Country, Missouri and Fairview Heights, Illinois.
Bearing the names of two of Lewis Rice’s founders, TuckerAllen will bring the estate planning reputation of its parent firm — a regional law firm with more than 160 attorneys — to the typical American family via a specialized business model that emphasizes personalized service from experienced and highly trained attorneys, at affordable, fixed fees.
“We looked around at the estate planning marketplace and asked ourselves why over half of all American adults do not have a will or trust,” said Thomas Erb, the Chairman of both Lewis Rice and TuckerAllen. “That’s really a remarkable statistic, considering the confusion and burdens that not having an estate plan thrusts upon grieving family members. We think that this unfortunate statistic is due largely to inaccessibility and high cost, and TuckerAllen is built to break down both of those barriers.”
“Our focus will be squarely on delivering a superior client experience. We know that, from a technical legal standpoint, we will be providing top-quality estate plans — that’s a given,” Erb said. “Our objective is to make the process as simple, straightforward, and affordable as possible for our clients. We’ve created warm and welcoming office environments where we can get to know our clients and where they can feel comfortable discussing their families and their very personal wishes for them. We listen carefully, we answer every question, and only then do we give them our advice.”
TuckerAllen will offer free initial consultations and two all-inclusive estate plan packages: a Will Package priced at $550 for an individual or $650 for a married couple, and a Trust Package priced at $950 for an individual or $1,250 for a married couple. Both packages will include living wills, health care declarations, financial powers of attorney, and a beneficiary deed to the client’s home. The Trust Package will include both pour-over wills and revocable trusts.
Initial staffing of the new law firm will include 10 attorneys and 13 support staff. All TuckerAllen personnel were hired externally and will be led by CEO Mary Elizabeth Coleman. Lewis Rice and its Estate Planning Department will continue to independently offer sophisticated estate planning services to individuals and families with more complex estates.
TuckerAllen is a different kind of law firm. Its attorneys only do one thing — estate planning. By limiting its practice in this way, the attorneys of TuckerAllen can focus on each of their client’s unique needs and wishes more competently and more effectively. And with its practice process and business models built on high-tech software platforms, TuckerAllen operates more efficiently and more cost effectively than most other law firms — passing those savings on to its clients in the form of affordable fixed pricing. With no hourly rates and no hours to keep track of, TuckerAllen attorneys’ sole focus is client satisfaction. TuckerAllen was founded in 2015 and currently has four office locations in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
